The castle may be medieval; the Bistro most definitely is not. Located in the old stable block, which has been renovated and refurbished to a superb standard, handcrafted freshly prepared food, using locally sourced ingredients, is prepared in an open-plan kitchen; diners can relax, observe and enjoy the preparation and cooking of their meal. A second, open-plan, kitchen is where Ruth runs her cookery courses – to suit every level of ability.
The Bistro is open every day from 9am – 5pm for morning coffee, lunches and vintage afternoon teas; and Saturday from 9am until 11pm for evening meals by arrangement. Cookery courses are day events, booked in advance. The Bistro is available for private hire for parties and events, and we also have access to a marque in the grounds of the castle for larger numbers when available.
We are also able to arrange Corporate events and teambuilding we can offer a great range of activities- Cooking sessions with ‘Come Dine With Me’ style competitions- Paintballing and target shooting- Farm tours and Alpaca treks- Wine and food tasting competitions- Maize Maze (summer months)- Treasure hunts- Old School sports days- Fantastic food options with an excellent lunch or dinner in our Bistro.
