The Grange is in the picturesque village of Saltwood just off the M20, which is a 5 minute drive from Hythe & the Channel Tunnel, and 20 minutes from the port of Dover. Set in lovely private grounds, The Annex is a self-contained, fully-equipped holiday home.

The Annex

The Annex is attached to The Grange - a grand old house set in picturesque grounds and historically thought to be the dower house to Saltwood Castle which is 500 yards down the road. The Annex is a self-contained flat, fully-equipped with everything to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing. This dwelling has its own entrance, and parking directly outside on a private drive.

The Annex would comfortably accommodate 2 couples or a family of 4. There is one large double room and a smaller room which can be a single or twin. Downstairs there is an entrance hall; living/dining room; small kitchen; shower room/toilet; and utility room.

Guest Access

Guests will have exclusive use of the flat with its private entrance, where there is a gravel drive directly outside which would comfortably accommodate two vehicles. The living/dining room has a table and four chairs, a sofa, and television. There is a small fully-equipped kitchen with a fridge, electric hob/oven, microwave, kettle and toaster, and a complete set of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils etc. The utility room has a washing machine, tumble dryer and a freezer - the latter is shared with the host family.

Tea, coffee, milk and cereals will be provided. If you would like a breakfast box at additional cost, please liaise with the host family.

Interaction with Guests

Hugh and Ann will welcome guests upon their arrival. The flat is fully independent - with total privacy. A folder with details as to local services and attractions will be provided together with emergency information.

Our home is next door and we are only too pleased to help, but equally will respect your independence.

Other things to note:

  • A travel cot is available for one child at no extra charge.
  • The stairway in The Annex is quite steep and narrow but does have a sturdy handrail.
  • Tea/coffee, milk and cereals are provided but a more comprehensive breakfast box can be arranged at an additional cost.
  • Late check-out can be arranged with the host family.

House Rules

  • Arrivals are between 3pm and 7pm however later-arrivals can be accommodated if organised in advance.
  • We will provide you with our phone number for you to keep us informed of your estimated time of arrival.
  • Departure time is before 10am however later departures may be accommodated on special arrangement with us.
  • This is a non-smoking flat - smoking is allowed in the garden only.
  • Pets are not allowed.
