The gardens first opened to the public in May 1950 and the hall was opened in January 1955 by Joseph Cast, a former local resident who had generously donated the land.
The hall and gardens are run and maintained for the benefit of the residents of Petts Wood by The Petts Wood War Memorial Trust, a registered charity.
