What are your office hours?

We have a fully trained team of Wedding Coordinators who are on site seven days a week to assist you.  We are here from 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Saturday and 9.00am to 4.00pm on Sundays.  You can either call us on 01634 222244 or email us at enquiries@coolingcastlebarn.com.

What time do your events finish?

On Fridays and Saturdays, we finish at midnight and every other day the finish time is 11.00pm.

How many guests can I invite?

160 for the seated wedding breakfast and 250 for the evening function.

Can I get ready at the Barn?

Yes, we have the most awesome Dressing Room in our new Moat House. You can have access to the Dressing Room side of the Moat House from 8am on the day of your wedding.  

Do you have a Bridal Suite?

Oh yes, together with a Bridal Sitting Room big enough to entertain your family for an end of day wind down.

Do you have any accommodation for my guests?

Yes, a Petite Suite, 10 doubles (4 of which can be made up as twins) and 4 family rooms.

Can we bring our own caterers in?

No.

Does everyone have to have the same meal?

No, you choose 2 starters, 3 main courses & 2 desserts from our menu and then your guests can pick what they fancy. We also have a children’s menu.

Is there car parking available on site?

Yes, we have a large car park at the rear of the barn.

Can I put candles on the tables?

Yes, but the containers should be 3cm higher than the naked flame and the stand should be sturdy so that it will not tip if the table is knocked. Many of our regular florists use flameless electric candles which are very realistic and safer.

Do you provide a cake stand?

Yes, we have several different stands and a cake knife both of which are available to use.

Do you provide Chair Covers?

We provide white chair covers and sashes in the Fathom Barn (except when our Christmas Decorations are in place) but we do not supply any chair covers for the Tithe Barn.

Can we supply our own DJ?

No, but our resident DJ will use your playlist so you get to choose the style of music – at no extra charge!

Can we have a band?

Yes. We do have a couple of conditions though so if you have a band in mind speak to a Wedding Coordinator before you book.

What time can my florist come to the barn?

External contractors (i.e. florists etc.) are welcome onto the premises from 10am on the day of your wedding to set up.

Can we bring our things to the Barn before our wedding day.

Yes, but we do have limited storage space so you need to check with us before you bring the kitchen sink.

Do you allow Fire Works?

We are unable to allow fireworks. Due to recent changes in health and safety legislation pyrotechnic companies have not been able to find a suitable position on our site to enable firework displays.

Do you allow Sky Lanterns?

We are surrounded by farmland full of farm stock. Sky Lanterns can damage these argicultural lands and be ingested by the farm animals. it is for these reasons we cannot permit these or balloons.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Yes, we are wheelchair accessible throughout and we have disabled toilets in the Tithe Barn.

Can my dog come to my wedding?

Yes, if he is a guide or hearing dog, and yes if he has really good doggie manners. But as much as we adore dogs he must be kept on a lead and cannot come into the Tithe Barn where we serve food. We don’t allow dogs in our bedrooms and we get really cross if we see dogs left in cars.

Are my guests permitted to smoke on site?

Only in the garden.

Do you have to get married on site or can we marry in a Church?

You are more than welcome to get married in Church and then come here for the remainder of your celebrations.  There are two local churches to us – St James’ Cooling and St Helens’, Cliffe.
